When it wasn't snowing, we worked long hours, night and day, trying to make up the lost days. There were fourteen drivers, and we all lived in one great big tent.

I told her how much help she had been since I arrived from Florida. I left the court and went for a walk to sort things out. I was surprised that I’d accepted Mrs. Mayberry’s news so calmly.
