How about the outside grounds and car park? • Who’s doing what: again, clarity is key. Let each person know what is expected of him or her. Which team he or she is part of; to whom he or she will report; who will report to him or her. Let people know which bodies are to be involved: is it simply the children and staff – and is that all the staff – or are parents, friends and family invited to join in? Also include a key contact for any immediate enquires on clutter clearing in general or about the day itself.

She also wanted to clear both halves of all the extraneous matter impairing the ‘flow’ of the school. Most urgent was a marching corridor in the older wing of the school.
